Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Contains photographs of the following military units: VII Corps; 8th Army. General description of the collection: The George H. Decker photograph collection covers the top three positions of General Decker's very illustrious and significant career. There is a large oversize album showing the key staff officers and many varied activities of VII Corps at Stuttgart, Germany while he was its commander in 1955-1956. Numerous boxes full of well-assembled albums illustrate his time as commanding general of the 8th Army in Korea (1957-1959). Several boxes of loose photos and albums illustrating specific visits photographically cover General Decker's tenure as vice chief of staff and chief of staff, United States (U.S.) Army (1959-1962). Many of these photos, from all periods, show receptions, presentations, etc. being typical grin and shake scenes. One large oversize album covers President John F. Kennedy's visit to Fort Bragg for a combat readiness demonstration in October 1961.
